NDS Group plc [NNDS], a News Corporation [NWS] company and a provider of conditional access systems and interactive applications for digital TV, announced Tuesday that Sky Brazil implemented its Value@TV interactive technology for set-top boxes to enhance the viewing experience of Sky satellite TV subscribers.

"In NDS, we saw the perfect opportunity to take the basic interactive technology we already employ to a more advanced level," said Rossana Fontenele, general manager of Sky Brazil. "Our customers demand to be active viewers and look to our services to do more than just present programming. They want content that they can customize to get what they need when they need it."

NDS created an interactive television infrastructure that allows Sky Brazil to develop and run sophisticated applications. The first application immediately available with the launch is a television portal that allows subscribers to interact with their sets via their remote controls. >TK
