Sanyo Lcd Tv
Sanyo majors on home cinema in 2002 - Products - projectors, televisions, other products - Brief ArticleIan Evans HOME cinema is one of the key focal points of Sanyo's 2002 line-up, incorporating, as it does plasma, LCD projectors and all-in-one home cinema systems.
Indeed, the range includes two LCD projectors targeted specifically at the home cinema market, the PLV-60 and the PLV-30.
The PLV-60 offers a brightness of 1,200 ANSI lumens and "true widescreen" LCD panels. For sound, the unit also sports built-in stereo speakers, while the electronic keystone correction straightens up the picture if projected from an angle. The "super quiet" operation mode will allow the machine to run at 37dB, while Sanyo offers a choice between long- and short-throw lenses.
On the presentation side, Sanyo is launching the PLC-XP40 with XGA resolution and the more portable PLC-SU30 with SVGA resolution.
Also targeting the home cinema market is the PDP32-H1EV plasma screen incorporating ALIS panel technology, thereby interlacing two pictures into each frame in an attempt to give high brightness and image clarity.
Although plasma screens and LCD projectors are being touted as the future of home cinema, there is no doubt that the present lies very much with the flat-screen CRT With this in mind, Sanyo will be launching four new models throughout April and May. The range will comprise two analogue sets and two DVB televisions.
The two terrestrial digital televisions -- the 32- and 28DFN1 -- will be available in May, possibly with a supporting advertising campaign. The TVs themselves have two common interface ITV Digital CAM compatible slots, and use Sanyo's real flat Invar mask screen technology. Three Scart sockets ensure a high-quality connection for most of the boxes that might live under the TV.
To allow the consumer to enjoy the best from the DVD experience, Sanyo is also launching the DC-TS950 5.1 channel slim-line dolby digital home cinema system. The 300 watt total power output breaks down into six lots of 50 watts.
Meanwhile, the DC-TS750 5.1 channel system delivers 150 watts -- five lots of 21 watt for the speakers and 45 watts for the subwoofer.
Another variation on the home cinema sound system is offered by the DC-PT220 DVD and hi-fi system. Although its predecessor, the 821, suffered as a result of being regarded solely as an audio product rather than a vision product, Sanyo is clearly hoping the new unit -- available in July -- will prove more popular.
Also available as part of a package with a 24in widescreen, the DC-PT220 features virtual Dolby surround system and 30 watts total power output.
Finally, when settling down to enjoy any of the above, your customers may wish to relax in the HEC-DR21 massage chair. This sports a body sensor system to figure out exactly what sort of state you're in and delivers the kind of message it thinks you need.
