Plasma Tv Information
In-store plasma TV Wal-Mart's in-store television network could be in for a major increase in viewership thanks to the use of large, eye-catching plasma televisions. A supercenter adjacent to the retailer's Bentonville, Ark., headquarters was equipped last fall with 42-inch screens that are much more visible than the 32inch conventional televisions found in the 2,620 other stores that are part of the Wal-Mart network. The plasma screens will roll out to roughly one-third of U.S. Wal-Mart's this year.
Even without an equipment upgrade, viewership and retention of information broadcast on the network has increased dramatically in recent years. Nielsen Media Research in November reported a 44 percent increase in viewership duration above 2002 levels after conducting interviews with 3,851 customers during a one-month period at 56 different stores.
