NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--June 26, 2001
James Curtis and Lisa Bloom, Court TV's newest anchor team will debut Monday, July 9th as co-hosts of the daily live trial coverage program Closing Arguments, which airs from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. ET/PT. In addition, noted defense attorney, author and Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who joined the network in 2000, has signed on for an additional year as a contributing anchor.
Curtis and Bloom come to the law with two divergent perspectives but the same desire to make a difference. Curtis joins Court TV after hosting Curtis Court and spent ten years as a prosecutor in the Riverside County, California, District Attorney's office. A dedicated community activist, he is committed to improving the juvenile justice system. In Bloom's career as a trial attorney, advocating on behalf of victims of sexual harassment and civil rights discrimination, she has successfully argued landmark cases, including a sex discrimination suit against the Boy Scouts of America and a race discrimination case against the Los Angeles Police Department.
"Lisa Bloom and James Curtis have both made names for themselves as lawyers who fight for their causes and seek positive changes in society through the law. As hosts of Closing Arguments they'll have a chance to express their convictions as they help the viewers understand the drama and judicial interplay going on in the courtroom," said Marlene Dann, Senior Vice President of Daytime Programming.
