Market research company Knowledge Networks/Statistical Research has published a report looking at the popularity of the Internet amongst US children compared to other information mediums.
In total, 33% of all the children aged eight to 13 claimed that if they could have access to only one of the Internet, television, radio and the telephone then they would choose the Internet. Next most popular was the television with 26% followed by the telephone with 21% then radio with 15%.
A slight variation occurred between the sexes with boys choosing the television in second place behind the Internet. Girls placed the telephone as most important, followed by the Internet then the TV, according to the company.
