NEC says the new WT610 mirrored reflection projector has the shortest throw distance on the market, with the ability to project a 40-inch image at a distance of 2 inches from the screen, or a 100-inch image from 26 inches away. The 13-pound projector forgoes a lens-based optical system for a series of aspheric mirrors which enable the projector to display large images from a short distance.

The WT610 is HDTV-capable and has a claimed brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens, a 3500:1 contrast ratio, and XGA resolution. Users can connect to the projector from their PC via Wi-Fi 802.11g or a wired LAN. The WT610 also has a low-power mode, which increases the lamp life by up to 50 percent and cuts the operating noise to 32dB.
