With the help of three top celebrity makeup artists, The Picture Co., which has several travel and instructional videos under its belt, has developed an interactive instructional DVD to help women find the look that best fits their face and skin type.

The three-hour video, dubbed "Your-MakeUp," has a suggested retail price of $32.95. It has been featured on Amazon.com since March, but the company now is talking with several drug and mass outlets in hopes that the retailers will carry it in their beauty departments.

According to producer Catalina Cristea, what makes the DVD unique is that it does not endorse any cosmetics brand and features segments for women of various ages and ethnicities, including Hispanic, African-American and Asian. The DVD features 26 complete looks on 17 different faces.

Cristea, a self-proclaimed frustrated beauty consumer, said she came up with the idea after she found instructional beauty books difficult to follow and other instructional videos to be nothing more than infomercials for specific products.

She decided to team up with three makeup artists to create their own video. The artists are Karen Kawahara, who has worked with several celebrities and, for the last four seasons of the TV show "Will & Grace," has been actress Debra Messing's makeup artist; Joanna Schlip, whose I clients include countless celebrities for photo shoots and other events; and Lutz Wesemann, who has worked with many well-known photographers and magazine and was the principal makeup artist for actress Meg Ryan on six of her films.
