Alpine Tv Tuner
Dell Desktops Offer Balance of Power, Price in New Quiet Chassis; Dell Midrange and Compact Media Center Computer Systems Ready for Back-to-School ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) today introduced the Dimension 5100 tower and 5100C compact desktop computers that offer enhanced multimedia features, run quiet and blend in with home and office environments.
The Dimension 5100C and 5100 feature a redesigned chassis trimmed in alpine white and arctic silver colors. The new designs incorporate Balanced Technology Extended (BTX) specifications and Dell QuietCase(TM) technology, both of which can help reduce noise and improve reliability and cooling. The Dimension 5100C delivers in a foot-tall form factor the power of Intel's dual-core processors -- two processors embedded on one chip -- which can enable customers to run multiple applications simultaneously without experiencing slower performance. The Dimension 5100 is an affordable entertainment desktop computer configurable with Windows(R) XP Media Center.
The systems ship with Dell's Support 3.0, an application that can identify known errors, such as an incompatible device driver, and either automatically fix them or offer a solution for customers -- even before they realize there is a problem.
Dimension 5100C: Powerful Multimedia for Small Spaces in Homes and Offices
In addition to dual-core processors, customers can purchase the Dimension 5100C with the latest multimedia technologies such as Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, a Media Center Extender, a TV tuner and a DVD burner. These features enable customers to enjoy the same entertainment benefits as a personal video recorder, gaming console, CD player or DVD player in the living room, media room, study or office.
About 12 inches tall and less than 4 inches wide, the Dimension 5100C can fit in spaces about as wide as a business card. Customers can also install the computer horizontally in home entertainment centers. The front panel slides open for access to a range of ports, including an optional 9-in-1 media card reader, to let customers conveniently connect digital devices or transfer photos, music and video.
Dimension 5100: Affordable Entertainment
The Dimension 5100 delivers entertainment features such as support for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, advanced graphics controllers and integrated 7.1 audio. It offers a balance of performance, features and multimedia technologies ideal for students, customers adding a second or third computer for their homes or small businesses, or customers wanting new technologies at an affordable price.
