Kodak Easy Share Camera
Eastman Kodak - Supplier News - cancels launch of Advantix Easy Share hybrid camera - Brief Article Eastman Kodak announced late last month that it has canceled its planned fall launch of Advantix Easy Share, a hybrid camera that was to deliver both a digital image and a film picture. The camera, which was to retail for about $200 would cost too much for the company to produce, according to Daniel Palumbo, president of Kodak's consumer imaging business and a senior vice president.
"The component costs and digital-still camera pricing did not align as hoped," he said. "As a result, if we can't deliver what we believe consumers want, we must suspend plans to launch this camera." Kodak has not set a new date for the launch.
In other news, Kodak this month is introducing six new cameras as part of its Advanced Photo System Line at the German photographic trade show Photokina.
